Population

The Fond du Lac Shoals Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) population 1/ increased from 84,567 in 1970 to 101,633 in 2010. That was an increase of 20.5 percent.

The foreign-born (FB) population increased from 1,353 in 1970 to 3,298 in 2010. That was an increase of 143.8 percent. The foreign-born share changed from 1.6 percent to 3.2 percent.

The share of the overall population that was native-born (NB) increased by 18.2 percent.

The first chart below shows the three population change factors for three periods adjusted for annual average amounts. Natural change (B-D) was the major factor adding population in all periods.

The second chart shows the same data but with an adjustment to reflect births to immigrants shifted to NIM. In it, NIM surpassed B-D as the largest source of added population in the most recent period.
